IT’S DRY, BUT IS IT CLEAN?

160404aThe aim of cleaning a carpet professionally is twofold.  Firstly, we must ensure that everything  is clean, but also to leave the cleaned item as dry as possible in order to achieve customer satisfaction with minimum inconvenience.

A few carpet cleaners may even say that quick drying times are more important than the cleaning.  Due to this, some operators of HWE (portable and truck-mount) equipment are trying to clean carpets with one pass of the wand so that the carpet dries very quickly.

The problem with this is that although some of the soiling will be evident when looking at the carpet, much of the dirt and soiling would have worked its way much deeper into the carpet fibres.  Just with one pass of the wand, it will take the top level of soil away giving the appearance that the carpet is clean but the soiling in between the fibres will be left behind.  If you are lucky and the carpet dries without any soiling then some would say as the carpet looks clean it MUST BE clean.

The fact remains that quick drying only merely enhances the carpet appearance but for a long lasting improvement and also improving healthy indoor air quality, it is necessary to remove the soiling deep in the carpet fibres themselves.
